Providing our community & the wider area with a local

and trusted Tradesman.

Small jobs are just as important as larger scale projects.

Welcome

Welcome to 'The Lilliput Handy Man' service. The whole basis for establishing my company is to provide a trusted handyman service to the local and wider community that I live in. Having spent the last ten years restoring houses and finally settling in Lilliput I have decided to provide a Handyman service. During this time developing property I have received a high volume of requests on a huge range of tasks for other homeowners. As we are all aware the Poole and Bournemouth area is flooded with tradesmen with the pick of large scale developments to work on. However, getting someone to assist with smaller-scale household jobs and projects is very difficult and very expensive particularly if your address falls within certain areas.

As with any business, reputation really is everything to me and having spent my earlier career as an Automotive engineer and prototype vehicle builder, attention to detail is paramount and a key part of my work ethos. My goal will always be to create a long term customer who trusts my work rate, skills, and quality and would always recommend my service to friends, family, neighbours and businesses.

No job is too small...

My main customers are generally people who are simply too busy in life to get round to working through their list of outstanding jobs or those who are unable to perform these tasks whether that be the elderly or people living alone without a partner to lighten the load. Many of my jobs are too small for builders to consider taking or even quoting for which is absolutely fine. As I work alone I perform the entire job which means no cutting corners to save time which only ever has consequences in the long run.

Most customers provide me with a list of jobs to work through for them and once they are happy with the quality and working relationship they tend to continue adding to the list as work is completed. With elderly clients sometimes I work for the direct family and report back when the work is completed with either image or communication. This can avoid confusion and ensure payment is dealt with by them to avoid any concerns over tradesmen taking unauthorised funds.

How much will it cost...

There really is no job too small but it is obviously more economical for everyone if you have a list of jobs that will fill either a half-day slot or a complete day's worth of work. This reduces traveling time/costs for me and allows me to keep my hourly rate down. What I will not do while working for you is to answer my phone while being paid by you. One of my greatest dislikes over the years has been watching people wasting paying customers' time & money chasing their next job. I value the customer I have and will always work this way.

Labour - £20 per hour

I have a flat rate of £20 per hour whether I am jet washing a drive, planting a tree, painting a room, plastering a wall etc...etc. I work efficiently between tasks and no work will ever be stretched out to fill time. All work will be signed off at the end of each day once the customer has inspected and is satisfied to ensure total transparency.

Materials

Materials are charged on top of the hourly labour rate. I am happy for customers to purchase/supply thier own materials and will happily give adivce on what to purchase. Alternatively, I will pay for and collect materials and provide the receipts to the customers for payment once the job is complete.

My working day is from 9am to 5pm with a 30-minute lunch break deducted from the labour cost. If any other time is not spent working on your tasks this will also be deducted. In some cases, I will start earlier if the job or weather requires, but as a father of two I try to make the morning school run as I feel it is important to me and my family.

What my customers say...

"Scott is the best handyman I have ever used and I would now never go anywhere else. His quality of work is amazing. He is friendly yet professional - I have recommend him to all my friends! "
